AUTOMATIC FALL DETECTION AND MONITORING OF ELDERLY PEOPLE

The main aim of the project is to design a MEMS based system using which fall detection can be done and to protect them by alerting doctor through GSM modem. The project will be designed in such a way that the microcontroller will be interfaced to MEMS. This MEMS will be tagged to the hand of user (elderly person). If the hand tilts, MEMS will recognize the mechanical hand movements, and will convert these mechanical hand movements into equivalent electrical signals and will send to the microcontroller. The microcontroller receives these signals and immediately alerts it’s surroundings through the buzzer indicating that the person is fallen. And a GSM modem will also be interfaced to the controller through a line driver IC MAX232 to send the predefined message to the doctor in the case of fall detection, so that the person can be given the treatment as early as possiible

GSM CONTROLLED INTELLIGENT ROBOT

GSM (SMS) Controlled intelligent Robot” is automatic robots which capable of receiving a set of command instructions in the form of Short message service and performs the necessary actions. We will be using a dedicated modem/mobile at the receiver module i.e. with the robot itself and send the commands using SMS service as per the required actions. The mobile unit which is dedicated at the robot is interfaced with an intellectual device called Micro controller so that it takes the responsibility of reading the received commands in the form of SMS from the mobile unit and perform the corresponding predefined tasks such as move front or back, left or right etc. The micro controller is also interfaced with few DC motors in order to move the robot in different directions. The ON and OFF of the DC motors depends on the direction it has to move which is the complete responsibility of the controller to take those intelligent decisions.
