Applied the designed methods on two real-world applications of the problem in operating room scheduling and stadium seating. - Developed a reinforcement-learning-based optimization framework to solve the real-time problem of scheduling radiology exams to ensure timely care for patients. Performed extensive simulation analyses to evaluate our proposed policies for this complex scheduling problem. - Designed a bi-level optimization model and an exact cutting-plane algorithm to produce robust assortments of products under a new ranking-based choice model that incorporates customers’ purchase behavior resulted by product unavailability.
