Safiul (or Saf for short) and I were in the Global Operations Leadership team where he took on the role of Global Supply Chain Manager for the company. I would be frank to admit that our initial interactions were more cordial, as both of us came with different backgrounds and view points of how operations would be managed. But one thing stood out about Saf, and that is his ability to take in large swaths of information/data, and to put it in a very logical, coherent argument, to which it would be hard to find fault with. It is through this that both of us found common ground, as we worked together to improve on supply chain operations. Saf is also a dedicated leader to his team. You could see the sparkle in his eyes when he talked about how he worked with his team to develop new ideas into fruition, because it was never about him or wanting to bask in the glory, but about how well his team met and exceeded his expectations. As a boss, he might be demanding, but that is because he truly believed in the capabilities of his staff and will not hesitate to defend them and their performance. For that, he has my utmost respect.
