  My present job responsibilities are:•Oversee and co-ordinate safe and efficient plant operation and maintenance of thermal power plant.•Effective inventory management of spares, consumables and capital assets.•Review planned, preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection of activities to reduce cost and ensure optimum utilization of resources.•Administer plant safety, operation, regulatory compliance, maintenance and environmental QA / QC programs to assure safe, efficient and reliable operation of power plant.•Manage and oversee the performance of planned and unplanned plant outages.•Review existing work processes and improve by eliminating rework loops.•Develop annual goals, budget projection and management of ongoing expenses.•Conduct/support regular safety meetings on monthly basis.•Ensure safety of staff at work, property and existing services and make necessary arrangement to ensure plant site free of hazard.•Impart and commit to ongoing training and development of staff to enhance their technical capacity within the plant through various training programs and on-the-job teachings.   I joined Saba Power Company in July 2008. My responsibilities were:•Manage safe, reliable and efficient plant operation following standard power plant operation practices.•Prepare plant generation report on daily basis to be sent to managers of different departments, Plant Manager and company Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The report contains detail of Complex gross electricity generation, net electricity export, fuel oil, diesel oil and natural gas consumptions, house load consumption, heat rate, load factor, availability factor, reliability factor and capacity factor.•Respond to the variances and issue instructions to adjust and maintain proper process conditions.•Define and implement operating policies and practices.•Prepare operation department budget.•Demonstrate Annual Dependable Capacity (ADC) Test of the power plant to Power purchase organization test witness team annually.•Anticipate and respond effectively to operational demands and achieve safe and efficient power generation.•Perform leadership role in emergency operating situations like power complex blackouts, islanding operation and re-synchronization.•Manage plant operations to maintain high efficiency and availability.•Maintain plant operating data record.•Communicate with outside regulatory agencies.•Control incidents in a range of situations.•Liaise with external organizations.•Develop and implement standard operating procedures and check lists.   Being Shift Charge Engineer at SWCC, my responsibilities were: •Operate the Power and Desalination units according to pre-defined operating policies and station instructions. •Ensure safe and reliable operation of five thermal units each having capacity of 735 T/H of steam production, five turbo generators each having capacity of 112 MW, Ten Desalination units each having capacity of 1900 T/H of water production and BOP. •Work with the contractor representative to ascertain different testing and commissioning operations in the plant and to prepare reports to be sent to Chief Operation Manager. •Identify deficiencies in the system and send reports to Chief Operation Manager for rectification of the same by the contractor. •Manage a shift of more than 25 persons including shift supervisor, switch board operator, thermal operators, desalination operators and plant auxiliary operators. •Supervise safety related tests and routines to ensure plant safety at all times. •Provide assistance in commissioning of new equipment and systems. •Issue work permits to maintenance division. •Supervise all switching, related to electrical systems 380 KV, 13.8 KV, 6.6 KV and 0.4KV. •Writing technical reports on significant plant events and unusual occurrences after investigating the events.
