I was a part of the opening team at the Homegrown on the east side of Wichita. I was hired as a hostess and trained to become a server shortly thereafter. As a hostess, I learned the importance of maintaining a professional and calm demeanor even with exceedingly upset customers and quickly honed my small-talk abilities. While serving, I became much better at multi-tasking, learned how to perform well in high-stress environments, and further developed my interpersonal skills.
