      • May 2012 - May 2013

This position has seen me overlook the integration of SPE as a whole within the University. Through my position, I have overseen events such as SPE Young Professional Ambassador Lecture held at University of Leeds, which was led by Nick Curum (BG Group) and the sponsoring of PETEX 2012, facilitating those students interested in a career within the Oil and Gas industry to visit this industry-oriented conference at highly subsidised rates. Under my leadership of the Society, we have witnessed the number of SPE- University of Leeds Chapter members increasing from 13 to well above 100 – spurred by the conduction of exciting seminars, talks and industry-focussed events. • Summer Internee/Sponsored Student
      • Jul 2012 - Aug 2012

During this summer internship, I was introduced to modeling workflow, starting from seismic interpretation to reservoir simulation. The internship was a general overview of reservoir engineering as a part of the GSR (Geo-service) department, where I learned many things about PLT "Production logging Tool" operation and well testing methods and interpretation. As a part of the reservoir simulation overview, I was introduced to the main phases of any reservoir simulation study, which are the history match and forecasting, using OFM and Petrel "Schlumberger software” for loading data, which was then transferred into ECLIPS “reservoir simulation engine”, input data. • Summer Internee/Sponsored Student
      • Jul 2011 - Aug 2011

The internship was divided into two parts. The first part covered a general overview of the production plants in the oil field while the second was an overview of the drilling department. Responsibilities: 1)worthy observations of the process to be submitted in the morning meetings of production units. 2)Taking readings and gathering information especially for pressure and temperature parameters. 3)writing daily reports about the observations as well as about the learning outcomes from each unit I visited. I also joined the mechanical, electrical and well services teams to learn about well maintenance, clean up, casing, cementing, and pressure control. Personally, the internship helped me improve my self-confidence as it exposed me to real oil field operations. It was a great opportunity for me to put theoretical skills I have gained from my studies in the university into practice and gain invaluable experience. The internship has also developed my communication and team work skills. Show less
