Primary School Teacher
-
Jul 2016 - Present
After graduating with a Bachelor of Primary Education in 2016, I have worked at various schools on the Gold Coast, completing either short contracts or working as a relief teacher. While completing short contracts, I have complete responsibility for the class, creative control over their learning experiences, and also partake in any Professional Developments that are taking place at the school during this time. The experiences I have had while working as a primary teacher have allowed me to develop initiative, my ability to work within a teaching team, and my interpersonal skills, as I have been enabled to work and interact with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. My most recent contract was held at Worongary State School, where I worked within the Prep teaching team, performing diagnostic testing on individual prep students.

Outside Hours School Carer
-
2014 - 2016
During 2014, I began working at Hillcrest Christian College’s Outside Hours School care. While working at Hillcrest Christian College, I was responsible for students welfare, creating and facilitating hands on learning experiences for the students, and assisting students who were completing assignments or homework during their time at the Outside Hours School Care facility. I was also able to work closely with parents and caregivers, with particular regard to the children's emotional welfare and assistance in improving their subject grades. This work experience further developed my interpersonal skills, as I was enabled to work closely with people with diverse cultural attitudes, values, and beliefs. I was also enabled to practice leadership and initiative skills while working at Hillcrest Christian College, as I often had to utilise on the spot thinking while taking on leadership roles as the sole carer for around fifteen children.
