  Responsible for the overall quality oversight of all manufacturing activities and assures that the Quality Checkers are fully trained in all inspection processes, defect recognition and containment methods. Ensures all products/parts approved for production is inspected for common/known defects and conform to customer specification prior to release to internal and external customers including incoming materials as well. Motivating members of the team and providing “hands on” leadership for the team involved in quality control and ensuring production processes run efficiently and effectively. Maintains and improves the quality management system IATF 16949. Creates, maintains, and updates well understood quality standards and measure the effectiveness against established standards. Prepares documentation for new projects in cooperation with Project Management and Production.Communicates with customers and suppliers in the regard of quality. Oversees staff training in the scope of quality throughout the organization. Implements corrective and preventive actions, based on evaluation and analysis of data, and examine their effectiveness. Investigates root cause and document robust countermeasures for NCR’s and customer complaints (8D reports, Quality alerts, 5-Why etc) and measure the effectiveness. Represents the company in external audits (customer, certification). Conducts supplier audits for improved quality of materials. Leads cross functional teams in proactively solving quality problems. Monitors performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Provides data to support improvement actions. Overall responsible for lab and lab equipment, caliper, micrometer etc. maintenance. Tensile strength testing of material and products to ensure on schedule and recordkeeping, calibration of checking gauges and updating fixture data, 3D Romer arm checks and all measuring protocols (parts & equipment) Show less
