  As a optometric technician my daily roles include prepping patients for their exam with vision pretesting, performing machine testing (OCT Nerve/Macula/Pachymetry, Visual Fields, Auto Refractometry, Topographies, Fundus Photos, Tonometry, etc.), assisting the acting optometrist during an exam, administering any topicals during the exam, collecting patient medical information, managing patient insurance billing and benefits, working in the optical when fitting patients with glasses, and other general office tasks as needed. The office has now acquired a lens blocking/edging system and one of my new primary roles includes edging and assembling orders for patients.
