The Junior Conservatoire is a pre-vocational training. This specialised and focused programme is designed for students who are considering higher education, or a career, in the performing arts.
This is an intensive programme, with limited places and designed for the young student of exceptional talent who has some experience and a high level of commitment and passion for the performing arts. The course runs from September to July with a showcase at the end of the year.
The director of the acting strand chooses and provides the course content for the acting students across the year as well as sourcing and directing the students in their end of year showcase. Show less -

Speech and Drama Teacher
-
Dec 2020 - Aug 2022
Developing confidence and ease in young people aged 5-15. At Ten Feet Tall my job is to help young people grow in their speaking and performing abilities. Mobilising them in to giving engaging speeches, whipping up an improvisation, excavating a poem or rooting in to a character. Some students arrive without wanting to speak at all and yet all of my students have grown in self awareness, connection, confidence and enthusiasm to put themselves out there and share in the joy of performance. Most students work towards Speech NZ Speech and Drama exams, so lessons are planned in line with a curriculum designed to get young people to think on their feet, trust their insticts and employ techniques helping them to deliver fabulous performances!
