Following the child and introducing them to a variety of materials and activities keeping their interests in mind. Providing 1:1 attention while maintaining overall focus on the entire group. Creating and updating child observations by observing their interest and progress in the classroom using My Montessori Child. Identifying early signs of emotional and developmental problems, reporting to parents and making target and action plans along with the parents to support them (using positive reinforcement to redirect poor behaviour). Organised parent meeting to introduce them to the Montessori philosophy, materials and management of behaviour to co-ordinate similar actions to certain behaviours. Primary caregiver to manage juvenile diabetes type 1. Created and compiled a brand new SEN file for the setting. Co-ordinated the setting's recording and documentation process regarding special educational needs, including targeted plans. Created a personalised SEND flowchart for the use of the setting. Applied for an Early Health Care Plan which got approved. Developed Individual Education Plans for children with delayed speech and language by liaising with parents and recognising the child’s routine and interest. Implemented and encouraged speech and language through the use of Makaton (symbol, sign and speech). Show less
