Achievements included: launching a strategic planning process; increasing annual budget of $800,000 to $2.7 million; growing membership by 20%; and dramatically increasing coverage on C-SPAN, NPR, and PBS. The Committee of 100 was founded by in 1989 by IM Pei and Yo-Yo Ma with a dual-mission of promoting the betterment of US-China relationships by bringing a Chinese-American perspective to it and promoting opportunities for Chinese-Americans in all facets of American life.
