Raymond investigated the possible implementation of a machine learning algorithm that finds patterns and anomalies in data from online production environments to work as a forewarning system for Infor (Sweden) AB. This involved comparing time series forecasting approaches namely the recursive strategy and the direct forecasting strategy. For the recursive strategy, a simple neural network was used. For the direct forecasting approach, a well-known algorithm called “XGBoost”, was used. XGBoost is regression trees. Finally, the forecasts by the different strategies were compared using a binary classification decision rule. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:liu:diva-166044 Show less

Raymond wrote and implemented a 2018 survey design for a trial on coffee farmers in Eastern Uganda. He analysed data using R and wrote 6 management reports with recommendations. Raymond conducted teaching sessions on basic statistics for the department. Raymond successfully supervised enumerator teams and was able to discover that one of the experiments conducted by the department was flawed from the reports of the enumerators. The data was sampled from over 8000 farmers. Raymond wrote and implemented a 2018 survey design for a trial on coffee farmers in Eastern Uganda.
