Joining in June 2018 as a 2nd Line Support Engineer, my role at Neticonic heavily utilises my customer service, problem-solving and technical skill sets.Operating from our St Helens IT support desk with a team of 3 other members of technical staff, I handle company projects for our clients as well as provide remote and onsite technical IT support via phone or email for our clients in order to meet agreed Service Level Agreements for day-to-day support.A large amount of my time is spent on project work which can involve Cloud Migrations such as Microsoft Azure/365, hardware consulting and deployment, server/network infrastructure planning and designing. Day-to-day technical support includes changes to Active Directory, Microsoft 365, general software issues for common and bespoke software, network connectivity and printing problems, setting up new starters etc. Onsite support can involve new system deployments, hardware diagnosing, telecoms or network maintenance.I aim to uphold a high standard of work at all times, demonstrating accurate recordkeeping and good analytical and problem-solving skills.

I worked in a small team of myself and two other members of staff for over two years providing computer sales, technical and repair services to the public and local businesses. KC Computers offered me with work experience for the two weeks that was required to complete my employment module at university. During this two week period I was heavily involved in the repair centre side of the business which involved diagnosing and repairing equipment brought to us by customers of the public whilst adhering to certain practices in the repair process already established by the rest of the team. While my skills were focused towards diagnosing and repairs, I would regularly speak to customers over the phone or face-to-face when visiting the shop, offering advice or obtaining information on the item being brought in for repair. This experience has improved my customer service and phone skills and furthermore has taught me how to explain technical problems and solutions in a way which is easily understandable and reassuring to the customer.I was largely involved in our custom-built PC service, I created various PC configurations to be advertised on our website at a variety of price ranges to appeal to everyone. I would regularly make choices on the hardware used based on what would provide an overall system which offers great performance for a great value for our customers. The job introduced me to contract work and providing IT as a managed service. Our contract work would involve managing systems for businesses in the local area such as PCs, iPads, servers and various network equipment from routers, switches and APs. Other roles within our managed contract work would include:- New hardware consulting- New server deployment and configuration- Windows Server 2008 R2/SBS 2011, Windows Server 2012/2016- Windows Active Directory- DNS- DHCP- SQL Database Administration- Remote Desktop Services- Windows Server and RDS licensing- Antivirus endpoint management

My second year of college presented me with an opportunity to undertake a week's worth of work experience at Currys. I had a variety of roles to fulfil each day which provided me with an experience of working within different areas in a business. These roles required me to work independently as well as in a team environment which included assisting customers with queries, setting up product displays on the shop floor and performing inventory management tasks and bringing out orders from the warehouse.
