Ron Martin

Ryan analyzed data for over a billion dollars of retail inventory for a special logistics project for us. Outstanding work ethic. Brilliant analytic mind.

Ron Martin

Ryan is one of the sharpest's young men I have ever seen in my 35 years in management. Ryan is working as in intern on several of our International Projects. One of his projects involved disecting and evaluating a $25 million dollar freight buy. Ryan brings a very analytical approach to these projects. His professionalism and work ethic is very impressive.

I'm currently responsible for introducing predictive models to better aid in understanding where our markets are going, this includes forecasting and preparing data for more advanced methods of analysis in the future. Immediate findings aided in resource expectations and allocations during the current oil bust.In anticipation for expanding analytics company wide, I'm also collaborating with our lead data and IT teams to explore and plan appropriate tools for conducting advanced analytic models. These models span from Neural Network to MCMC, and basic regression to advanced VAR/VEC/SVAR. Of highest importance in this work is the consideration of "Big Data", and being able to provide a work environment for skilled individuals to conduct such work. My current personal research involves expanding my skills in the Data Science realm. Being able to access, process, and make business value from extremely large data volumes is of highest interest to me. Show less

Most of my time spent so far in graduate studies has focused on coursework and thesis research. Much of our coursework has placed an emphasis on teamwork through collaborative effort among individuals, in order to ensure group success in projects. In addition, I worked to contribute valuable market information to a local firm by providing an analysis of the market potential for a new biomass product. I'm currently researching wood energy demand within the United States for my thesis while looking for new methods of business intelligence tools and data analysis in my spare time. Among the types of analysis methods learned include statistical and econometric, financial Value at Risk (VaR), financial and Real Options, stochastic simulation through Monte Carlo simulations, time-series forecasting and correlation analysis to hedge risky assets. Theoretical and applied analysis of producer and consumer markets was a great tool learned as a companion to market and economic research methods. Show less

Responsible for planning and implementing procedures to provide the highest quality of service in the area with the goal of the best customer satisfaction. This includes the managing of material sources that provide the highest quality and the lowest cost possible to our customers. In addition, I focused on ensuring improvements in all stages of service through Total Quality Management (TQM) implementation and compliance. The service experience of reliability and honesty provided by West Fargo Car Clinic is where value is added. Encouraged regular work ethic improvements upon all employees to ensure a consistent service experience for all customers.Assisted in operating a growing small business that is quickly moving into a more advanced and larger location. Advised in major operational decisions that pertained to the expansion location choice, as well as capital investment plans that add value for the customer. Show less

While as an intern to Ron Martin, VP of MME Global Lines, I assisted with various projects including a cost-benefit analysis from switching transportation carriers, which resulted in over saving their new client over $500,000 in their Q4 2012 shipments alone. In addition I edited, improved, and implemented new calculation procedures in the online instant rater data tables through the use of statistics and regression analysis. As a lead diagnostic technician and team motivator, I ensured quality service and customer retention by emphasizing my own zero "comeback" policy and teammate education. Primary responsibilities included inventory management, shop organization, and customer service. Further personal improvements included additional training to provide a competitive edge in an industry that never stops changing in any economic market condition. I spent a small portion of my work history repairing vehicles in the small business scenario. I gained valuable feedback while serving customers in an independent repair shop who faces stiff competition. In addition, valuable business operation methods were learned such as financial management and marketing campaigns.
