Ryan Berard worked as an intern with operational excellence at Terumo Medical Corp in the summer of 2018. We hope that he will return and stay engaged with us on a permanent basis. Ryan was hired to provide speed to our projects to launch operational excellence. He took several projects from start to finish, primarily the OpEx website and Process Modelling capability. Ryan was formerly trained in lean concepts and process simulation methods using Visio based ProModel software. He learnt everything from scratch, collected information with the OpEx team and experts in production and engineering to create process models for the four major product families incorporating resource, material and equipment allocations to perform capacity and resource analyses. He presented all of his work to stakeholders and worked with them to make them more useful to the organization. Ryan demonstrated an affinity to work with stakeholders, folks on the floor, customize situations to meet the needs of the situation and his immediate response to difficult assignments was to ask questions, which shows an admirable degree of maturity. We wish Ryan all the best in his educational pursuits and hope that we will have the opportunity to work with him in the near and long term.
