    • IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
      • Nov 2015 - Present

With just my manager and myself on site, my position at CAE is very varied. My work differs from rebuilding/fixing machines to networking, project management and server management. I currently work on Windows 7 sp1 systems and deal with Office 2010 & Outlook 365 managing them with exchange admin centre console. I use active directory tools to navigate and manage the user infrastructure (adding new machines, creating new accounts and applying group policies and user rights). I also manage RSA secure login technologies to give employees secure out of office access to the servers. I have also been completing online training courses to assist in my work through Microsoft Virtual Academy. In recent months I have taken steps into project management, in July/August last year I travelled to Amsterdam regularly to assist with an office merge and manage CAE’s systems during that unstable time. Most recently I have managed a project upgrading all hardware and software within the company and organised the hire of an employee on a temporary contract to help with the workload. Some of the operating systems & software’s I also use: Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows server 2008 R2 standard, VMware Tools, Vspherr 5, IP Avaya phone systems. Show less

    • Technical Adviser
      • Jun 2015 - Sep 2015

In June of this year, I joined ITB in the position of Technical Advisor, as I was looking to expand my IT knowledge, and this position was advertised with the opportunity to develop into an IT Consultancy role. ITB specialise in distributing and maintaining security software (such as McAfee, Barracuda and Kaspersky) to other companies across the local area, and during my time there I was training to become an IT Consultant. This involved completing certified exams to implement the software correctly within other companies infrastructures, and travelling across the UK shadowing the current consultants to learn how the role should be undertaken. I was also an internal IT Technician for the business, using my previous experience in IT Support to run and maintain the IT system and keep it in good working order. I did a lot of work with VM ware tools 2012, particularly testing on virtual environments with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator 5.1 and DLP 9.2, and also working on SQL servers. Whilst with ITB I gained the following McAfee certified qualifications: - McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator 5.1 Essentials Exam (completed 04/08/2015) - McAfee Data Loss Prevention Endpoint 9.2 Essentials Exam (completed 10/08/2015 Show less

    • IT Technician
      • May 2013 - Jun 2015

Looking to further my IT and customer service skills, in May 2014 I began work as an IT Technician at Hangar 8 within the London Oxford Airport. My role generally included providing a high standard of first and second line support to the employees of the company, ensuring that all IT systems continue to run smoothly and efficiently, and updating the computer systems with new and up to date software, maintenance checking installing printers or any other requests from the user that they will need to help them work efficiently and effectively on their work station. Another key aspect of my role was to be an out of hours on-call contact for employees around the world experiencing difficulties with computer systems. As a part of this I regularly receive phone calls from employees who are experiencing IT issues, including problems with their mobile phone and email accounts, which I help them to resolve over the phone or through out of hours work from home. Consequently this role helped me to develop and refine my skills as an IT Technician, as well as strengthening my experience in customer service through extensive phone and face to face problem solving, thus leaving me a confident and highly capable employee.
