Gather and analyze data for a Department of Defense project tracking changes in communities experiencing adjustments to local military installations. The study tracks economic, social, and demographic indicators to monitor the impact of base closures or expansions. Additionally, I have served as a graphic designer developing and implementing a template for future VC reports. Work on the team implementing Chicago's Bike 2015 Plan as well as the updated Streets for Cycling 2020 Plan. In this role I: • Introduced new methods of graphic communication to the Bike Program including illustrated section and plan drawings as well as Photoshop renderings based on existing photographs; • Developed a process for collecting and analyzing crash data translating the large volume of data into an easily decipherable map and statistical profile of each proposed project; • Manage the GIS database of Chicago's bikeway network; • Perform field work researching future and recently installed bike facilities; • Credited in the newly released Streets for Cycling 2020 plan. As a data analyst, I gathered, synthesized, and formatted demographic and economic data into a useful, legible format for a variety of institutional and government clients. Most notably, I managed a cooperative research project with the Institute for Research of Race and Public Policy analyzing the demographics of communities with high concentrations of convicted sex offenders. Record foreclosure filings through Sheriff Sale reports to create the only comprehensive database of foreclosures for Hamilton County. Manage data for future statistical analysis and mapping in GIS; specifically, analyzing trends in investment, foreclosure locations, and lenders. Through my work, the final report will contain an entirely new component added at my suggestion. Summarizing national and statewide figures, this new section was praised by my supervisors as adding needed context to the report. Moreover, I found ways to increase the value of the data to the organization. I developed a new manner of using the foreclosure data to determine high volume lenders in specific geographic areas, allowing WIN to use this information in-house or as a premium service to clients. Partnered with community board on programs to prevent foreclosures and property flipping in defined geographic areas. Researched records of financial and real estate transactions. This research became even more powerful when geocoded and presented visually. My work revealed previously undiscovered patterns of foreclosures.
