I coordinate a diverse portfolio of Phase I, II, and III clinical trials for kidney cancer and melanoma in the Immuno-Oncology Program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's Cancer Clinical Trials Office. As a lead study coordinator, I directly oversee all aspects of each trial, and facilitate seamless communication between clinical staff members and pharmaceutical industry sponsors. My responsibilities include assessing subject eligibility, ensuring all study visits are carried out according to protocol, collecting data (including performing EKGs and questionnaires), informing study subjects of their rights and responsibilities, and submitting regulatory information to the IRB. I am directly responsible for data integrity and am the first point of contact for patients, providers, and study sponsors when questions arise. In addition to patient-facing clinical trials, I manage a translational Tissue-Banking research subprogram, which supplies a database of blood and tissue specimens to numerous researchers in the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Consortium (DFHCC). As a senior member of my research group, I additionally provide training and guidance to newer members of the team.

I conducted a year-long independent research project in Dr. Kathryn Hart's lab on the kinetics of protein folding, with the broad goal of understanding how structural and kinetic differences in beta-lactamase enzymes impacts their ability to confer resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics in antibiotic-resistant bacteria. I used three probes – CD spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, and pulse proteolysis – to assay the unfolding behavior of β-lactamase proteins. I analyzed data using nonlinear curve fitting to assess quantitative information about protein unfolding behaviors, including the thermodynamic stability of unfolded proteins. I presented a thesis colloquium for departmental faculty and students, and wrote and submit a 60+ page detailing significant findings. Portions of my thesis work were included in a joint publication with other members of Dr. Hart's lab, which was published in the American Chemical Society's journal Biochemistry on 2/10/2022.
