I worked as an Operations intern for Supplier Quality at Smiths Medical. I spent about half my time assisting the Supplier Quality department at a manufacturing plant at their Oakdale site. Throughout my time I worked to develop organizational tools to help track the status of necessary supplier documentation, worked with suppliers regarding non-conformances and actions needed to be taken and developed an understanding of the Supplier Quality department and other departments that affect it, such as manufacturing and incoming inspection. I used to be a co-owner of the student-run restaurant in my dorm. A group of us ran the business and decided the hours, menu, prices, wages, marketing and advertising. Through this experience I gained leadership skills and experience working with a group running a small business. Currently, Yaz's is a paid job through the University, so we are not completely independent like in previous years. However, my group and I are still working on rebranding the restaurant by creating a new identity through a new logo, new menu items and design of the restaurant space. Show less

I worked with thermal energy storage materials used in cooling product designs for medical, military, heavy industrial and public safety industries. I also optimized warehousing , inventory and fulfillment processes associated with the relocation of the business. Finally, I streamlined order fulfillment flow through a custom workstation design.
