"Super efficient" is what comes to mind when I think back on the time Ryan and I worked together. Ryan filled the role of account specialist for my US accounts for a year, me being based in the US and him in the UK, most of our conversations were done trough instant messaging or emails but that did not impact working proactively together. I was particularly impressed how he picked up on complex issues, how proactive he was about it and always made sure that there was a process in place so that the next person picking the work could refer to his notes and understand it more easily. My work on Veritent attracted interest in my services for business strategy and development. Since accepting my first consultancy contract, I have worked for an early-stage tech start-up and a publicly listed company on marketing strategy design and market opportunity validation.Apply my experience of running Veritent allowed me to look at their problems and objectives from a different perspective. The marketing plan I developed has formed the basis of a first product launch yielding success in validating the market. Key areas of focus are setting company values and position, website design, customer (B2C) acquisition plan, staged launch plans & tactics, business (B2B) acquisition plan, data analytics, and financial budgeting.

Veritent is a tech company allowing businesses to track, manage and understand how and where their images are being used online.I founded Veritent (Verified Content) in 2018 after identifying the issue of image theft online amongst the Instagram community.As a non-technical sole founder, I was responsible for all aspects of the business from product development and strategy, through to financial forecasting and admin. Each business function was supported by an extensive network I accumulated, allowing for progress to made in multiple areas of the business while remaining lean in the early stages. Using project management techniques such as agile, I worked closely with a team of local developers to create a minimum viable product suitable for live demonstrations with potential customers and investors. To speed up the process, I taught myself the fundamentals of front-end coding and UX design, allowing me to work directly with the developers and designers to produce a working product in the most efficient way given the available resources.From the feedback gained from customer use, extensive online and in-person interviews, the Veritent product was refined to reflect the customer pain points. The customer-facing Veritent product pivoted through multiple versions, through B2C and B2B, ensuring the product being developed was needed in the market.Veritent was accepted on the highly competitive Ignite Pre-Accelerator in Newcastle for early-stage tech start-ups. Over an intensive 12 weeks, I was exposed to influential business leads, workshops in product development, and made Veritent investment-ready.As the face of the company, I often communicated with venture capitalists, angel investors, and C-level executives for advice, introductions, and negotiations of six-figure commercial deals. Combined with public pitches and presentations, I have become confident in communicating with a range of different audiences.

Cummins is an S&P500 engineering company manufacturing a range of engine components. I joined in July 2016 as a Sales Placement student during my year in industry, however I stayed for an extra year as project support – the first sales placement student to be given the opportunity to work remotely on returning to University.Throughout the year I took part in various different tasks across multiple departments, meaning that I had a varied role and gained experience dealing with numerous tasks. A key role of mine at Cummins Turbo Technologies was to be the point of contact for internal customers based in India, USA and China. Being given responsibility of such a broad range of tasks has allowed me to develop my independent decision making and improved my communication skills, especially with people for which English is not their native language. Using complex Microsoft Excel formulas, I effectively presented data in such a way so that it is easy to interpret. I successfully created a number of macro based workbooks which are now used across departments to ensure accuracy when performing tasks. When I was first given the briefing for these projects I had no prior Excel Macro experience, within 6 weeks I self-taught myself to a reasonably high standard - to the point where I can look at some code and troubleshoot issues. I feel that I would be able to apply this fast learning to other skills.Within a few months, I became heavily involved in multiple transformational projects for new and existing processes. Working with colleagues in different departments around the world, I designed and launched a tracking system for new product development allowing for cross-team clarification on project importance and timelines. Following this success, a version was launched to the sales teams for tracking of their deal flows.
