My role with CM Kling is to assist the senior lighting designers in creating models in Revit, lighting calculations in AGi32, creating schedules for luminaires and lighting controls, and contacting clients, architects and manufacturers. I chose to work with CM Kling in order to better learn about other facets of the architectural design process and add to my skillset with lighting design and analysis tools.   MW Architects is a forensic architecture firm that specializes in investigating and documenting damaged residential buildings and create repair documents. My role was to visit sites, take measurements and photos of every room, recreate the damaged building in Revit, then address the damages and provide instructions on repairs for the permit office to review. The work pace was extremely fast with most projects having a 1-2 day turnaround time. I felt that working at MWA greatly improved my skills and speed at digital modeling and helped better introduce me to the language which architecture uses. Show less

  SKA features a wide variety of projects spanning both residential and commercial. As my first internship, my role was to observe the other architects and assist how I could on smaller tasks through Revit or AutoCAD or Sketchup. I was given a brief introduction to the programs and tools necessary for an architect and became increasingly confident throughout my internship. My responsibilities grew gradually until I was eventually given an entire outdoor pavilion to design on my own. It was a thrilling experience to learn from SKA and I will be forever grateful for their assistance in my architectural education. Show less
