From the IU Auditorium website: IU auditorium is Bloomington’s premier performance venue. We host a variety of world-class artists, speakers, and Broadway shows. The public relations intern at IU Auditorium is responsible for assisting with the planning and implementation of all public relations initiatives for our many and varied presentations. The PR intern’s vital function is to provide the connection between IU Auditorium and the Bloomington community. This position collaborates with other members of the IU Auditorium marketing team to brainstorm and design initiatives, as well as coordinates the production and distribution of marketing materials. The position includes, but is not limited to arranging promotional contests and events; coordinating with sponsors and local businesses on marketing partnerships; managing the IU Auditorium “street team” which assists the PR Intern in the delivery and distribution of posters, brochures, schedule cards and other printed promotional materials; and assisting with day-of-show activities, including acting as liaison for media representatives at events and/or escorting patrons and artists for pre-and post-show talks, etc.
