Whitney Pomeroy

Ryan has been an integral part of developing and expanding Georgia Surplus Lines Association Student Development and Under 40s push as our Student Chair. Ryan was highly recommended by our former Student Chair, and Ryan surpassed our expectations. Ryan dove head first into his new role, asking good questions, offering fresh ideas, and helping in any way possible. Under Ryan's lead, a Student Committee was developed to better reach each Southeast school, we developed a new Student Development Networking Conference from the suggestions of his committee, website revamped, received much student participation, the list goes on and on. Ryan is always asking how he can help, is eager to learn, he will make an excellent addition where ever he lands.

I have spent my first year with the company in Indianapolis, IN. I will be relocating to our Nashville office in June. I am training in the commercial lines department as an assistant underwriter. I have spent valuable time as a production service technician (PST). During my time in the department, I issued and invoiced policies. I also cleared new business applications for company underwriters. I am also a member of the company's internship and philanthropic committees. Show less

I helped start the Georgia Surplus Lines Association Student Host Committee along with 4 other students. We have been able to interact with other insurance programs to promote student involvement in GSLA. We were an integral part of planning the Spring 2015 Student Development Conference. We have doubled the student involvement in 3 months and expanded into new schools in the region. I also attended the GSLA Education Symposium in November 2014. While working at RPS, I quoted various risks and sent out renewals for company underwriters. I audited and issued policies for our account executive staff. The internship allowed me to gain valuable experience with each of the different roles an MGA has. I was able to travel on multiple occasions to various carriers offices and Arthur J. Gallagher Headquarters. I was also fortunate enough to have organized a visit to a local weigh station to learn more about FMCSA protocol. During my time at Pugh, I delivered packages to clients promptly with a smile. I moved, recorded, and stored various tax and audit files using Microsoft Excel. I was fortunate enough to have helped train four new employees on the daily operations as an office assistant. During my time at Pugh, I delivered packages to clients promptly with a smile.
