  For over two years, I have had the opportunity to learn from Commerce Court Judge Gary Glazer and four law experienced law clerks, who are shared among the three Commerce Court judges. Through their mentorship, I acquired a strong foundation in commercial law, developed my analytical and writing skills, and gained insight into the qualities of an effective litigator.One of the highlights of my clerkship included being involved with the Philadelphia "soda tax" lawsuit, which challenged the constitutionality of the City of Philadelphia's excise tax on soda.

  I learned how to present a case in a courtroom from dozens of ADAs, directly and indirectly. On a daily basis I attended court and observed experienced ADAs manage a courtroom, and, under their supervision, I prosecuted some smaller cases. As an intern, I was able to represent the Commonwealth in bench trials against individuals charged with misdemeanor crimes and in preliminary hearings against those charged with felonies. I worked full-time during the summer months, and twenty-hours-per week during my fall semester. The experience gave me the opportunity to prepare over 100 cases for a trial or a preliminary hearing.
