The thing that immediately struck me (and my co-founder) about Ryan was his immense desire and passion to be a part of making games. His drive to get the job done really makes him an outstanding worker - as anyone in the game industry knows, there are always crunches around milestones/deliverables/proposals, and Ryan never shied away from the extra time and effort required to get those items completed and ready for clients. In the year that Ryan has been working with us so far, it's been a pleasure watching him take on more responsibility and grow and define his role in a way that really works with our small studio. Ryan never avoided any challenges we threw his way, from menial assignments that had to get done to writing complete game design docs - he met each task head on with the same enthusiasm regardless of the "fun factor" associated with it. I think that work ethic is what makes Ryan successful now and will allow him to build upon a solid foundation in the gaming industry.

WQED is a PBS station and multimedia company. OnQ is a live program that airs 5 nights a week and covers the arts, entertainment and community of Pittsburgh. I noticed a need to re-organize the file system used by OnQ producers during production of segments and research projects, and followed through and completed the project before the deadline. I also worked as a producer on the production of a 5 minute piece for an episode of OnQ that aired in the fall titled “Many Coats of Color”. I assisted in developing interview questions, as well as writing the final script for the piece based on the footage we had taken.
