I joined the Corporate Engineering Department at the Menara KLK head-office at Mutiara Damansara, where I was placed in the EnI team. In that time, I aided in Electrical and Instrumentation Design for upcoming plants in China and Indonesia as part of the company's international expansion, by deriving EnI relevant information from PnIDs and other process drawings up to the point of procurement. Over the course of which, I: ◦ Prepared an electrical wiring diagram, and validated cable and other sizing decisions from engineering drawings submitted by consultants; and ◦ Conducted a feasibility study on the implementation of Solar Energy harvesting solutions at a number of KLK factories and offices. In that time, I was attached to Palm-Oleo Rawang for 2 weeks as part of a plant-wide shutdown, where I supported the site EnI enginners by: ◦ Creating VB scripts for extracting DCS data from a historian into a Power BI dashboard for data presentation of time-based process yield, raw materials consumption and other output parameters; ◦ Designing DCS functional block diagrams (FBD) related to instrument performance and data presentation as requested from the Process and Production departments; and ◦ Monitoring and tracking contractor maintenance and servicing progress on a day-to-day basis and preparing slides and footage for my supervisor to present in end-of-the-day inter-departmental meetings. Led a team of 2 other interns in wiring and electrical assembly, in one occasion completing a set of industrial distribution boards in under 48 hours. Fabricated over 200 metal products alongside a team of accredited welders, and operated a variety of equipment not limited to welding machinery and an oxy-cutter, accumulating over 50 hours of experience. Created a VB script that automatically resized images to fit within a template which reduced report preparation time by over 300%. Conducted QC inspections and submitted 212 pieces of SAT documentation for the construction of a glove dipping manufacturing facility, and took part in regular QC meetings alongside my supervisor, the site SSHE officer, and the General Manager. Dealt directly with over 50 customers in taking part in FAT and SATs, and site visits to service over 100 ovens, powder coating lines, burners, blowers, dust collectors at customer factories. Programmed OMRON TM-14 collaborative robot function for implementation at a Research and Development laboratory to be commissioned by Semperit AG. Show less
