Director of Fundraising • Raised over $1,000,000 through grant writing, corporate sponsorships, personal donations, and event revenue • Sent gift receipts to over 1,000 unique donors and maintained records in accordance with federal 501(c)(3) statutes • Increased fundraising revenue 10% year-over-year from 2018-2020, including through the COVID-19 pandemic • Planned several events including an annual gala, golf outing, 5K race, Oktoberfest, Fashion Show, tricky tray, and high-stakes raffle • Worked closely with the Board of Directors and regularly met with key stakeholders and donors, securing several multi-year pledges Operational Management • Recruited, hired, trained, and managed a staff of 25 paid employees and 60 volunteers and managed a budget of over $2.05 million • Guided Happiness Is Camping through the American Camp Association accreditation process with a score of 100 percent, meeting over 150 standards covering risk management, program design, health and wellness, site and facility, and human resources • Marketed Camp using various platforms including MailChimp, Hootsuite, and Google Ads, audited Camp’s SEO performance monthly, and controlled Organization’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts Program Development • Generated and executed COVID-19-specific policies, successfully becoming the only camp for children with cancer in North America to offer 25+ days of overnight camp in 2021. Camp welcomed hundreds of kids, including several on active treatment for cancer. • Founded the Counselor and Mentorship Program (CAMP) in 2018. CAMP is designed to minimize the long-term effects of pediatric cancer by teaching participants basic life skills, generating their interest in higher learning through STEM education, and providing working experience. • Created and developed Happiness Is Camping’s first ever Family Camp in 2019 to combat the growing trend of parent’s unwillingness to send their children to overnight camp.
