The UWB Cloud-Based Underwater Acoustic Recorder (CUAR) research team was working to develop an affordable acoustic monitoring buoy that could be deployed in Lake Washington to measure underwater sound pollution. I was in charge of the software on-board that controls the hydrophone and cloud connections, as well as participated in the design and development of the buoy's hardware and electrical systems. TrickFire Robotics is a club at the University of Washington that was entered in the 2018 NASA Robotics Mining Competition. Our task was to design and build a robot capable of navigating a simulated Martian environment and mine gravel that was buried under a thick layer of Martian dust. I was heavily involved in the design and implementation of the robot's software system.
