Substitute Teacher
-
Feb 2023 - Jun 2023
In this role I worked with elementary school students in third, fourth, & fifth grade. As the building substitute, I was empowered to fulfill the role of many teachers including in specialized topics such as art, music, & physical education. Additionally, I often served as a homeroom teacher. I fostered strong relationships with my students and coworkers and became a member of a tight knit network of young learners and educators. I regularly utilized my Spanish degree by using my written and oral Spanish language skills to communicate with students with limited English speaking abilities. Additionally, I honed valuable and transferable office skills including utilizing Microsoft products and communications technologies. Show less

I have been working at the Center for Community, Service, and Justice at Loyola since August 2021 as a logistics coordinator for the Adults & Senior Citizens department. I work as a liaison between student volunteers and our community partners. From August to December 2021, I supported the volunteers for Keswick Multi-Care Center, a retirement community and Don Miller House, which is a residence for individuals living with HIV and AIDS run through Catholic Charities. I have also been supporting GEDCO CARES since August 2021, which provides assistance and support to unemployed adults in the Baltimore area, as well as operating a food kitchen. As of January 2022, I also support Harford House, which is a residence run through Catholic Charities which provides housing to formerly homeless men in Baltimore, and Maryland Legal Aid, which provides pro bono legal aid & advice to economically vulnerable Baltimoreans.
