After resigning from my permanent position as Biodiversity Planner with Whittlsea in September 2019, I have returned as a casual to undertake a short-term project for Council investigating the impacts of climate change on Whittlesea's biodiversity values. This project aims to analyse climate change projections for selected threatened and non-threatened focal species, weeds and flora species used in revegetation programs. The outputs of this project will help Council identify core areas for protection of biodiversity values and guide long term investment in conservation. Show less

      • Jan 2008 - Nov 2015

During my time in consulting I have gained extensive technical, project management, liaison and reporting skills. I’ve both lead and participated as a team member in a variety of projects ranging from development based assessments to strategic management and conservation plans for private developers, local, State and Federal government departments. I have substantial knowledge in both general survey for fauna and flora and targeted assessments for threatened species in a variety of environments from coastal, riparian, arid and alpine regions. I have well developed skills in project management, ranging from small ($10,000) to medium ($60,000) sized projects, where I've been responsible for budgeting, staffing, implementing field assessment and preparing ecological reports. Examples of recent projects include: Broad scale vegetation mapping in areas of custodial land managed by HVP in Shelley and Benalla; Threatened Species Management Plan for Mount Bullfight Nature Conservation Reserve; Conservation Management Plans for threatened fauna species (Botanic Ridge, Cardinia and Gum Scrub Creeks); Urban Wildlife Management Plan for the City of Yarra; Post-fire targeted fauna surveys for the Broad-toothed Rat and Eastern Pygmy Possum; and Annual monitoring for the EPBC-listed Growling Grass Frog at the Western Treatment Plant, Melbourne.
