  I work for the University in a local secondary school mentoring year 10 students on their life choices: such as university, A-levels and job aspirations. I mentor students from a low socio-economic background who are less likely to do as well as their counterparts. I am trying to instil a sense of purpose in the five students that I mentor every week, and show that they can achieve just as well as their more affluent peers.
