On board new vendors, ensuring non-disclosure is in force. Work with Engineers to identify circuits that are needed for corporate offices and remote offices. Issue RFQ’s to global vendors for quotes on voice and data circuits ranging from 50M up to 100G circuits. Present quotes to Engineers and discuss options to determine whom to award the circuit orders. Update database to capture all pertinent information, such as due date, circuit id, Dmark location, handoff type. Organized conference calls with vendors and future vendors to discuss current and future projects. Work with vendors to identify and discover new ways of quoting and ordering to ensure best practices. Identify any barriers in the quoting and ordering process in order to create better procedures that will save time and allow faster delivery. Once a vendor’s bid has been decided on, I have to ensure the Service Order is correct per bid, and then ensure that both parties sign via Docusign to kick off the order. Track the order through delivery of circuit and test and turn up the circuit. Show less

    • Procurement Specialist
      • Jun 2017 - Jan 2018

Here at Aryaka, I have many responsibilities in the Procurement team. Interface directly with sales persons to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled and telecom circuits are ordered to their specifications. Receive internal order from sales and go to many different ISP providers to obtain quotes for needed circuit bandwidth. We quote many types from DIA to Broadband asymmetrical, SDSL, cable circuits. Work directly with outside providers sales management teams to obtain quotes along with accessing some vendor portals to gain quotes and place orders. Update the internal Sales Force database with quotes obtained and choose the best quote for the customer based off of price, term, and function ability. Once the customers approval has been gained, I then place the order externally with awarded ISP, or request a SOF (service order form), check legal verbiage of SOF and if everything lines up with Aryaka’s guidelines, upload to Echo Sign for signature from VP of Operations. Then I coordinate the order through completion, assisting with provisioning issues that may arise. Update many database’s, assign PO#’s to SOF’s to ensure billing is captured and easily identified for payment of the invoices. Database scrub to correct the integrity of the database is a daily responsibility. Interface internally with cross functioning departments to assist in the assurance of process being followed. At Yahoo, I was responsible for contacting and establishing communication with Peering vendor’s to gain access and interconnect to their network, creating the peer exchange. Inquired as to the cost of the peer ports and negotiate for best cost. Took Service Order Form from Peer vendor and checked the language to ensure that it was within our terms. Sent SOF to Yahoo Legal for review and approval. Used PeeringDB, to obtain Peers at the Exchange Points. Worked special projects, responsible for obtaining KMZ files and delivered them to Network Architectures for final fiber route approval. I provisioned 100M circuits and was responsible for overseeing circuit delivery from circuit vendor and then ordering cross connects for the circuits, so extended xconnects. Advised Network Engineer to test light levels and for any signal loss. If there were any issues with testing, I worked with vendors to clear issues, then advise Network Engineer to retest circuit. Once new circuits were installed, I would work the disconnect orders for the old circuits. Maintained circuit inventory tracking on many spreadsheets to show new information. Attended meetings to provide status to the team as to where particular circuits/cross connects and the expected due date ensuring meeting target dates. Show less

Interviewed members of all groups that were involved in the process of working the decommission request, so that I could analyze existing work to perform root cause analysis of failure points that would hinder the work from progressing. Once all tickets had been completed, responsible for updating and closing all tickets, and perform Q&A for each order. Supported all regions to include international. During my time at this position, I tracked over $15 million dollars, as cost savings due to the amount of time the process saved. Prior to the process the average decommissioning ticket was taking from 60% to 80% longer than required. Responsible for additional projects related to our vendor’s. I had an associate that I was the lead for and I had to balance my time and schedule appropriately my time spent on each project. This position required high communication skills, oral and written as much of the work is done via email or verbal conversations. Requires Microsoft office experience, to include Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Visio. I have sharpened my skills in the leadership category, as I am the team lead for the Vendor Delivery Manager group for data circuits.
