Head Coach Development Squad

This is a volunteer role that sees me leading a development group within a futsal environment. My players are all 16 years old and above, with an average age of 17 within the group. My aim with this group is to develop and ultimately produce futsal talent that will break into the senior team in the next few years and keep a steady flow of players going indefinitely. With the senior team currently playing in the Superleague - the highest league in the UK, the development team themselves represent the club in National League 2, mainly against other development teams, but also against adult teams, which provides the boys with an opportunity to test what I have coached them against some difficult opposition nationally. I also have them playing in an adult Monday Night League to provide further tests and have recently competed against England U19 and England Adult Deaf Teams at St George's Park and Lillishall.

Together we expanded the skills sessions that were already on offer to more venues in more areas of the county and then in October 2019 we built an academy from ground zero to 8 teams, competing in leagues, within a month and we are looking to expand further in 2020. We have dozens of school links and we have coaches teams from around the world, fostering relationships that will see us coach globally in the future and arrange two way training camps for youths in the UK and abroad. My plan is to drive the academy towards doubling the number of teams we have competing before the start of the 20-21 season and expand the skills sessions further, whilst continuing to grow links domestically and internationally.
