Research Assistant and Plant Operator (Hydrogen)
-
Nov 2018 - Mar 2022
The plant operator of the carbon dioxide free hydrogen project at Redland Bay between Nippon Oil (JXTG) and Queensland University of Technology. The plant converted toluene into methylcyclohexane (MCH) via PEM electrolysis technology using solar. The MCH was then exported to Japan where the hydrogen was removed from the MCH via Chiyodas patented technology. The plant was operated over an 18 month period, which created unique data on the degradation of materials and catalytic performance. Also involved laboratory testing of alkaline membrane technology for Nippon Shokubai. Show less

During my time with Murphy Plumbing I was primarily involved with the construction of green field mine cites valuing $1 billion in Central Queensland for BMA. These projects where challenging as materials had to be ordered weeks in advance and transported from Mackey, this logistical challenge taught me a lot about planning weeks ahead to ensure that the project was not delayed. My day to day role was often dealing with Bechtel and BMA’s engineering team on site. I was well suited to the role as my communication skills could ensure that the replicant information was transferred. Show less
