  I am presently employed at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Whitstable as an Instructor (Unqualified Teacher). This is in conjunction with Canterbury Christ Church University and the Government sponsored ‘Troops to Teachers’ scheme, this is one year contract which finishes on 31st December 2013. The position involves teaching classes up to thirty children between the ages of 5-11 in accordance with the National Curriculum. The main subjects taught are Numeracy and Literacy, with a full range of supporting subjects including: Religious Education, Science, Physical Education, Geography, History, Music, Art, Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) and Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE). The position also includes marking the children’s completed work and updating Assessing Pupils Progress (APP) records as part of Assessment For Learning (AFL). I have a current Enhance Certificate from the Disclosing and Barring Service to allow me to work unsupervised with the children.
