Bio
Mark Campbell
Rusiru Hettimullage is an enthusiastic and innovative teacher and has a good rapport with his students. Because he is very student-centred, he gets students working alone or in groups quickly and is especially good at motivating teenagers and younger learners. He also can scaffold well and provide good learning support throughout each lesson especially with project-based learning. This has helped his students to enjoy learning English and to produce good work. We have found Rusiru friendly and communicative. He was happy to work in the teacher’s team and join in our extra-curricular activities. Even with travel challenges getting to and from our location he was dedicated and timely. He also was very willing to share his experience as an ESOL teacher and the results of his post graduate studies. This made him an asset to the school for our curriculum development. We would recommend him to any English Language school especially those keen to develop new flip learning methods and student focused outcomes.

Rusiru was my tutor for Language Teaching at the University of Auckland. I found his lessons very engaging and adequately challenging. Rusiru made everyone in the class feel comfortable to contribute & share their ideas. He went above and beyond to give us support with coursework; from meeting outside of our dedicated time to discuss course content, to sending countless resources—all of which was very helpful and has definitely prepared me to teach. I can’t thank Rusiru enough! 😊
