Project description: The idea involves using "evaporative cooling" to generate the cooling effect in the atmosphere inside a closed chamber. The usage of desiccant dehumidifiers will make the air free of moisture. Recycled water is used to recharge the air with moisture again. This process when repeated in a cycle, will result in evaporative cooling of the atmosphere thus creating a cooling effect. Once installed, the whole system is self-sustainable with periodic maintenance. The idea is patented and was a part of Shell Ideas 360, a global event to recognize solutions for food, water and energy problems around the globe. - Engineered a working prototype and completed the work 15% earlier than the deadline - Collaborated with a team of 10 for patenting and writing technical reports of the process - Modelled an air conditioner and performed process design calculations to compare the efficiency with the traditional HVAC systems - Developed Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) from scratch - Won two national awards for "best clean-tech" idea Show less
