NEST Society, The Doon School

  I was recently chosen to lead the NEST society, the premier science society of The Doon School. NEST, or the Nature, Engineering, Science, and Technology society, is at the forefront of scientific extracurriculars at The Doon School. We discuss various topics ranging from dark matter to quantum mechanics every week. NEST is also responsible for training students to participate in international competitions. The international round of the Space Settlement Design Competition organized by Atlantis Research was also won by members of this society. Over the years, this society has been graced by the presence of eminent researchers like HC Verma. I intend to uphold the brilliant work done by past presidents. This year, the NEST society will be focusing on sustainability as a goal. I firmly believe that charity begins at home; therefore, I will first try to achieve sustainability on our school campus.   I was recently selected to lead the Eduvelocity Gavel Club, an affiliation with Toastmasters International. The Gavel Club is an open community where freedom of speech and expression is paramount. Currently, we have 47 young, intelligent, and passionate members in our club. This club has taught me a lot, and this community has supported me in times of need. I intend to uphold past presidents' work, and I hope that I can affect change with my new position.   I am heading an online entrepreneurship conference. This conference is the flagship event of the business club at Doon, and I along with my colleague have been chosen to head it this year. The YEC is symbolic of the change in the education system today. It is a competition that aims to build life skills in its participants. YEC has been an integral part of my school life, and I hope I am able to carry on this year's competition with pride and prestige. I am heading an online entrepreneurship conference. Hero Steels Limited

  I recently completed my internship at Hero Steels Limited. Hero Steels is a prominent cold rolling plant based out of Ludhiana. I was a trainee for 2 weeks in the factory, and I was able to understand the whole cold rolling process. We were enthralled after seeing the applications of classroom physics. We were a part of the mechanical department and we did a few things on Hero's cloud computing software SAP HANA. All together it was a marvellous experience, and we were also able to make our own research project out of it. Show less

  I served as a research intern at Sona Comstar. The internship involved understanding the manufacturing and design of bevel gears. I was introduced to various processes like shot blasting and hydraulic forging. At Sona, we also did a detailed study on the aftermarket for bevel gears. I also learned about different methods of quality control. I was also a part of a detailed study that analyzed the effect of heat treatment on the microstructure of particles.
