100 million gallon per year ethanol plant. Partially complete plant that was bankrupted several years prior. Scope included completion of all electrical and Instrumentation as well as functionality and design changes needed to bring the plant to production. Electrical manpower peaked at 75 and Instrumentation at 8. This job involved a variety of unusual challenges modifying systems as well as equipment and commissioning. This plant used a Siemens DCS system. Power distribution at 13.8KVIncluding switchgear, bussducts, transformers, metering, and overcurrent protection.I was directly involved in, and ultimately responsible for, numerous medium voltage issues mostly cause by installations performed 2 years previous, without energizing the equipment. Extensive testing and rework was required. This was a Kewitt design plant rather than ICM. The Plant was brought to rate and is still in production. Owned by Aventine Renewable Fuels.
