Scope included completion of all electrical and Instrumentation as well as functionality and design changes needed to bring the plant to production. Electrical manpower peaked at 75 and Instrumentation at 8. This job involved a variety of unusual challenges modifying systems as well as equipment and commissioning. This plant used a Siemens DCS system. Power distribution at 13.8KVIncluding switchgear, bussducts, transformers, metering, and overcurrent protection.I was directly involved in, and ultimately responsible for, numerous medium voltage issues mostly cause by installations performed 2 years previous, without energizing the equipment. Extensive testing and rework was required. This was a Kewitt design plant rather than ICM. The Plant was brought to rate and is still in production. Owned by Aventine Renewable Fuels.

This is a plastics blow molding company that employed 200 plus people and 28 blow molding presses as well as all associated support equipment, and Instrumentation. Also Contracted and built prototype machines at Acro Tek Midwest for their clients. Built 14 Machines that replaced 35 workers doing manual labor. Most machines performed 10 to 35 separate operations including precision milling, drilling, cutting threading and separating individual parts. Clients include Polaris, Yamaha, Kubota, Buell, and Kawasaki. All machines PLC controlled with light curtain barriers. Each machine logged several thousand hours in production with zero injuries.
