Governance and Gender Officer - SAGE St lucia
-
May 2022 - Nov 2022
Worked on updating the Skills to Access the Green Economy (SAGE) program’s Gender Inclusion Toolkit for their 6 partner training institutions across the Caribbean. As part of the governance side of my role, I also supported SAGE’s M&E team and other internal committees. Research for the gender inclusion toolkit was inspired by my own masters research on decolonizing education reform in Haiti. The toolkit was also informed by my work through SAGE as a life and culinary skills workshop facilitator at St. lucia’s National Skills Development Centre (NSDC) along with a short course facilitation on Green skills at Dominica’s Centre where Adolescents Learn to Love and Serve (CALLS). I was the elected President of the non-profit organization that represents all Student Trustees from Francophone School Boards in Ontario. In this role I lead the executive team comprised of two other elected VPs and together we advocated on behalf of Francophone student trustees and the Francophone students they represented in districts all over Ontario. Amongst many other organizations, we worked closely with the Ministry of Education in Ontario, EQAO-TPCL and OSTA, the organization representing Student Trustees coming from English speaking school boards.
