  Age UK started their Face-to-face befriending service in 2018 and I was lucky enough to be one of the initial volunteers. After receiving great feedback from our Age UK clients and the volunteers, myself and my Age UK client were called in to meet with Merton Counselors and Merton Civic Center to give feedback. The Merton Counselors were delighted with the feedback and the Face-to-face befriending service is now rolled out permanently with Age UK. My volunteering continues at the Merton Age UK office, where I would help out with the clients visiting the center, sitting down for lunch and, from time to time, carry out maintenance work as a general handy man.
