Supporting ladies with Cooking, hygiene, medication administration and taking care of their personal needs. Being a companion, escorting them to medical appointments, places for recreation and shopping. One lady suffered from dementia which built an awareness for me of this condition and allowed further interest in this area. Another lady, also suffered dementia, I ensured that she remembered the day to day activities by recording it in a diary, all the events that took place during our outings and time spent every day. My other client suffered severe depression. This experience was quite valuable in raising my knowledge of the condition and how complicated it could be. It also provided insight into how prolonged a depression could be and how much impact life’s shocks could have on the vulnerable. Show less
