      Working as part of a team that provide round the clock remote assistance to a vast amount of oil rigs, vessels and land crews located across the globe in relation to their satellite links, internet access, networks, backhaul circuits, and phone lines. I deal with the innumerable variety of issues that are reported directly by the sites and by alarms that are generated automatically by pro-active monitoring software. This includes:• Working 12 hour shifts on a 4 day rotating basis.• Troubleshooting issues on customer networks. Primarily Cisco devices, but with exposure to Sagems, Multiplexers and Riverbeds.• Troubleshooting issues in relation to phone lines (Such as the lines are down, poor quality lines)• Troubleshooting issues on customers Vsat systems including SCPC technologies and TDMA networks such as iDirect systems.• All issues are reported via and kept track though a ticketing system (Footprints).• Exposure to a wide array of software applications which assist with remote access, monitoring and statistical info.• Liaising directly with the customer on all issues, as well as communicating with management to provide updates and on matters of escalation.• Providing monthly reports to my Team leader.
