      Program Finance, Strategy & Planning Manager across the Customer Tax Transparency Portfolio at ANZ.Working directly for a large tax compliance portfolio delivering customer tax transparency for ANZ. The CTT Portfolio developed from the requirement of ANZ to firstly comply with the US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA 2010) and more recently the development of an international Common Reporting Standard by the OECD to work towards the automatic exchange of information on foreign tax residents. Reporting directly to the Executive Program Director, I looked after all things financial on the Program covering the Investment Allocation estimation and planning process, baseline submissions, forecasting requirements, vendor SoW value negotiation and payment planning, remuneration discussions, financial reporting commentaries and cost reduction initiatives such as contractor conversions, phased resource onboarding and vendor policing. I was responsible for calculating the penalty exposure to ANZ, demonstrating the cost of non-compliance across the Australia, NZ and APEA regions with the collation of complex legislation pointing to multi-billion dollar fines payable in non-compliant scenarios.

      This role was based within a centralised project accounting team, managing seven high-profile projects within the Global Services & Operations division with combined total project spend in excess of A$200m.Specific to the role of Project Finance Manager I was responsible for project cost control through ownership of the bank's internal cost models, actual spend reporting and provision of forecast and budgetary guidance to the project stakeholders. I was personally responsible for the capitalisation of software WIP and accountable for balance sheet sign-off. I drove the software capitalisation approvals process through liaison with Group Accounting Policy and managed the project Tax Transfer Pricing exposure with Group Tax.I looked after the broader Payments Transformation projects which built support for payments and transaction services accessible to all channels across the group, inclusive of business activity monitoring, upgrades to payments data warehousing, high-value traffic and messaging enhancements. I was also integral to the formation of the project finance infrastructure of ANZ's latest payment project - Real Time Payments - leading discussions on asset structure and financial reporting requirements. One of the more complex projects under my remit was the bank’s FATCA implementation strategy which required ANZ to develop a comprehensive management reporting tool covering Australia, New Zealand and regional Asian markets. This compliance project was undertaken to abide by the United States’ IRS requirement for foreign financial institutions to report information related to the ownership by US citizens of assets held overseas, as mandated by the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) 2010. I was invited to join the program full-time following my efforts as a Project Finance Manager in 2015, by which point FATCA had grown into a global tax compliance requirement inclusive of Common Reporting Standards and UK CDOT iterations.
