This is an ongoing project for which I was handpicked by USI together with four other students/graduates. We currently reviewing, validating, and assessing St. Vincent Medical Center 5S/3N Surgical Unit’s data processing efficiency for selected devices in consultation with ESD Leadership Team. In my role, I have established analytical tools for specified methods in evaluating pre- and post-clinical data and ensuring data documentation, accuracy, and reporting. I also created data sets, extracted and synthesized data from multiple sources, conducted various analyses, and interpreted quantitative and qualitative analyses (total of 1,500 medical records). I have presented reports and made recommendations for the final results to St. Vincent Medical Center and the medical device vendor. Show less

Health Administrative/Data Analyst Internship

In this role, I initiated data mining and documenting complex queries against the relational database, as well as drafted and maintained project reports, research proposals, graphs, summaries, and meeting documents – I once completed a 30-page proposal in one week. Here, I gained experience in writing Institutional Review Board (IRB) and clinical trial research proposals. I worked directly with community health organizations to explain and implement policy changes and to address project inquiries. I was selected with five other students on this fixed term project with St. Vincent Urgent Care in four locations. I have been assisting on leading the process of identifying, prioritizing, and planning implementation of improvements to patient waiting time. I am in the process of developing the framework to improve patient satisfaction in the waiting room and eliminate wasted time. I will lead presentations of reports and recommendations to St. Vincent Urgent Care’s Lean Process Management. I managed this non-government organization’s daily operations and supervised its 65 employees and 30 volunteers. Our focus was on rebuilding efforts including medical aid and psychological assistance after a massive earthquake destroyed infrastructure and livelihoods in the area. I led fundraising activities and customer service while providing much needed assistance with registering relief goods, compliance monitoring, budget management, employee/volunteer recruitment and on-boarding, and setting work assignments for different functions. In this capacity, I reported to the Executive Director/Chairman, and performed administrative and clerical duties including scheduling, submitting weekly/monthly analysis reports, preparing and filing meeting agendas and documents.
