Conducted economic research with Prof. Illenin Kondo on the project "Economic Diversification and the Decline of American Manufacturing Towns", analyzing how the structure of intra-labor-market industrial diversification may amplify or diminish the magnitude of the effects of economic shocks within those labor markets. Conducted rigorous mathematical analysis on leading macroeconomic models of trade and migration, worked creatively to translate ideas about economic theory into a concrete question that could be answered with data/econometric models, and created insightful visualizations of data to better understand empirical phenomena.
