Planning the event and liaising with a complex multi stakeholder board across the whole of central London. Securing significant road closures over two days in central London and staging an Opening and Closing Ceremony on Trafalgar Square. • Communicating regularly with stakeholders such as UK Sport, Greater London Authority, British Triathlon Federation, and International Triathlon Union to ensure their objectives are being achieved. • Developing new business beyond the existing World Triathlon London: Entering into a commercial partnership with the British Triathlon Federation; Delivering the British Triathlon Championships in Liverpool; Securing £900k funding from Welsh Government and launching a new professional cycling race in Wales (Velothon Wales - inaugural event in 2015). • Securing £1.4 million of public funding for the World Triathlon London over two years, securing £900k public funding over four years for new cycling event in Wales. • Securing and managing major event sponsorships with a total value of >£2.5 million (e.g. Tata Steel, GE, PruHealth, Threadneedle, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Vauxhall). • Leading on bid submissions for major UK sport events e.g. Tour of Britain and Ride London (in both cases being shortlisted to the final stage) • Being the media spokesperson for all events delivered by Upsolut Sports UK.
