- Due to the changing nature of the threat landscape, I was responsible for onboarding and migration to a new Cloud DDoS solution to replace the on-premise security hardware which was no longer fit for purpose, this protected the platform from multiple attacks up to several terabytes in size providing security for all our Clients business-critical applications and preventing loss of revenue.- Maintaining supportability of network Infrastructure was an element of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and as the subject matter expert (SME) for Cisco switches, I successfully completed a project to upgrade/replace/decommission around 1000 switches spread across 3 Data Centres, without impacting live services. - Part of Information Assurance (IA) was to sustain levels of security via the Vulnerability Management Process, as I’m also the SME for Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS), I was responsible for reviewing Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) for IPS and other networking equipment; allowing for prevention against zero-day threats in the wild.- Assisting Project Management when additional networking resource was required to deliver successfully on tight deadlines.- As the last level of escalation for networking and Major Incidents (MI), managed incidents to successful resolution and restoring normal operation, providing knowledge transfer/induction training/mentoring to Tier1 and 2 teams which helped retain the excellent levels of support our Clients are used to.- Increasing situational awareness through introducing common operational picture leading to ensuring SLA’s, availability and uptime of Core Network.
