      At the IT Servicedesk, I handled all kinds of issues for both staff and students. These issues were very diverse, ranging from activating user accounts to solving network problems or assisting users in the IT-environment the University had created (Windows, Mac OS X and Linux). Service was provided over phone and/or e-mail as well as in person/on location if that was required. When I couldn't provide a solution, an important aspect of my job was to know when and who to escalate to and, if necessary, follow-up on the escalation.Besides the actual support work we also wanted to pro-actively inform users and guide them in the transition to new systems and software.
